COULD YOU BE A BRAVEHOUND BUDDY?

BRAVEHOUND provide assistance dogs to veterans suffering with mental health including PTSD. The dogs are life changing and life saving for the veterans.

BRAVEHOUND BUDDIES are a valued role, crucial to ensuring the success of each BRAVEHOUND as an assistance dog.

We’re looking for people who are able to dedicate the time, and energy to help successfully prepare a puppy or young dog to become an assistance dog. The dogs will live with the BRAVEHOUND BUDDY for around 3 – 8 months.

All costs are covered by BRAVEHOUND

Your Commitment 

BRAVEHOUND BUDDIES attend the quarterly workshops throughout the year, to support you in the role

When a puppy or young dog is placed with you, they will need time to settle in. The training team will visit and support you throughout. Once the dog is settled the training team will train with the dog and support you to maintain the training whilst you care for the dog in your home. Ideally you would spend an hour a week with the training team.

Two BRAVEHOUND BUDDIES are assigned to each dog, so that a second Buddy can support with holiday and event cover, but we would also encourage the second Buddy to get involved in training sessions so that the dog is familiar with them.

Can’t commit to months in the role?
If you cannot commit to caring for a dog for 3-8 months we’d still love you to come on board as a secondary Buddy, providing short term cover for our BRAVEHOUND BUDDIES.
