BRAVEHOUND PROBE CLEARS DOG CHARITY

A watchdog has rejected a complaint of financial mismanagement against a Scottish charity that provides dogs to military veterans. Bravehound was reported to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator in December 2019. It concluded its inquiry last month, finding that trustees had not breached their legal duties and no recommendations for improvements were required.

At Bravehound the beneficiary is at the centre of everything we do. We take any feedback or complaints very seriously and constantly review our policies and procedures to ensure the best possible standards are maintained.

OSCR made inquiries in August 2020 under the section 28 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. The trustees were advised by OSCR that the inquiries do not mean or imply any wrongdoing on the part of the charity trustees. No further action was deemed necessary.

OSCR is considering publishing a report to highlight to the wider sector the cooperation received from the trustees throughout the inquiry, and the strength of evidence provided which allowed the regulator to determine there was no need for further action.
