Businesses and organisations that serve the public must allow people with disabilities to bring their service animals into all areas of the facility where customers are normally allowed to go.

The Equality Act 2010 laws apply to all businesses open to the public.

The Equality Act 2010 defines a service animal as any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. If they meet this definition, animals are considered service animals under The Equality Act 2010 regardless of whether they have been licensed or certified by local government.
